I don’t have a conversion chart. I don’t know exactly how much rain has fallen in the past twenty-four hours, but I’m pretty sure it would amount to about ten feet of snow. Maybe I appreciate the rain more than I thought.
I found out some time ago that 1 inch of rain is roughly equal to about 1 foot of snow. I got this from some estimates given the Weather Service when we had a big storm here.
I’ll be interested to hear if someone weighs in with a different view. Maybe it’s different in the drier West for example. Maybe I’m wrong…
Hi SD. I think I’ve heard that same ratio. Of course I was exaggerating about the amount but it would have been a lot of snow. Our temp. is in the high 60s. We will need a major cool down to get any snow for Christmas. Just as well–I’ll be on the road a bit.

Our temp is in the low 60s too. No white Xmas for us this year.. 😦
